Good News

We got a good report at the doctor's office yesterday. The baby looks good and is growing nicely. I am at 13 weeks now. There's one very small area between the placenta and uterine wall that still contains some blood that my body needs to get rid of. But three weeks ago there were two very large areas. The doc said that as long as there's still some blood, I need to take it easy. And I will probably have to somewhat take it easy the entire pregnancy. But the doctor said, "I think this one's going to stay put." Meaning she thinks the baby is probably going to do just fine assuming that nothing else happens to threaten it.

Anyway, we'll be posting some ultrasound photos on here later on today or tomorrow. I will go back in three weeks to see her and she's going to try to determine the sex. We will let you know when we know. Phillip and I are finally getting excited and starting to think we might actually have a baby! Thank you for your continued prayers.

Frogs and Butterflies

Tonight Jackson was supposed to be going to sleep. It was already way past his bedtime. He likes to yell questions and comments of various kinds from his room to us while we're in the living room. Anyway, tonight he called for me so I asked him what he wanted. And he said, "Momma, do butterflies turn into frogs?" After I quickly gained my composure, I hollered back that no, caterpillars turn into butterflies and tadpoles turn into frogs. It seems less funny now that I've typed it out, but oh well. He keeps us laughing all day long. What a cool kid.

11 and 1/2 weeks

Well, we are now at 11 and 1/2 weeks through this pregnancy. We heard the heartbeat today. We are relieved but still anxious. The last two pregnancies ended between 12 and 13 weeks so we're not quite over that hump yet. I'll go to my high risk doctor next week and get a better idea of how things are with the placenta and the growth of the baby. And I'll try to put my next ultrasound photo on here so you can see who you've been praying for. To all of you who have been praying and calling and bringing us food, we are so grateful. You are more help than you know.
