"Ultimately our gift to the world around us is hope. Not blind hope that pretends everything is fine and refuses to acknowledge how things are. But the kind of hope that comes from staring pain and suffering right in the eyes and refusing to believe that this is all there is. It is what we all need - hope that comes not from going around suffering but from going through it." - Rob Bell The Velvet Elvis (170)

I do refuse to believe this is all there is.

Defiant optimism. One of the marks of a true adult -- and child of Christ, in my humble opinion.

For the past 3 months or so, people keep telling me I look like Rob Bell. I guess that's better than Art Bell.

Rob Bell looks a little dorkier than you but less psychotic.

Oh, and I have something funny to tell you about the recording of this weekend's service.

The BPF one where I royally screwed-up the intro of We Fall Down due to a brain fart? They should have sent the 2nd service, though I think by then, my voice was even worse.

Or do you mean at the the church yall were at?

Whoever was running sound (probably Brent) fell asleep and didn't stop the recording after Greg was done. There's about 4 minutes or so of you trying to sing.

I didn't put that part on the website, but whoever gets a cd from that weekend is going to get a nice little suprise at the end.

I couldn't even listen to it so I don't know what song it was. Pretty funny, huh? I think so.

I think I would pay good money to hear that. =)

Niiiiiiiiiice.

Oh well. For feeling like Barry White wearing a Darth Vader mask, I *think* it went well enough during the services. Of course, everything sounds better live and recordings don't lie — but whatever.

At least I wasn't belching, farting, or making Beavis & Butthead noises.

=)
