Not Travis

I got an e-mail about that cat. It's not Travis. Oh well. Jackson said that he wants to get a different cat than Travis anyway. There's a really cute orange and white cat at Petco. But I'm pretty sure Phillip will decline.

Get the cat and tell your husband it's a gift for HIM. How could he refuse a gift? Go get that kitty! Then we can all pitch in with name ideas, hee hee!

If we get another cat, we'd probably have to keep it inside. And that means a litter box. That means I would have to clean the litter box. I'm just not sure if it's worth it. Jackson isn't really asking for a cat. I think we'll probably wait until he's old enough help take care of a pet before we get another one.

I wouldn't tell him. Just see if he happens to notice.

Litter boxes aren't that bad if you have a discreet place to put it, like a laundry room or something. When I had my cat, though she was just one cat, I had one of those boxes with the roof and walls so we didn't have to actually see the "stuff" until I changed the bag. I used a big black garbage bag, plus a cat pan liner with Wal-Mart brand litter designed for multiple cats so it lasted longer, and I only changed it out once a week. Teaching your son about the responsibility of caring for a pet can start now. He can help, pour a pitcher of water into the water dish or scoop out cat food and place it in the bowl. Even at his young age, he can still help and learn. I wish we still had a cat. We want to get one when we're out of this apartment complex as they want a $250 non-refundable deposit/fee, plus a $400 refundable deposit. Guess they've been burned by people's pets before. Ridiculous charges!
