Travis stuff

I tried to call the SPCA this morning but they don't open until Tuesday at noon. So, I'll try again tomorrow. I'm wondering if it is Travis, how much will I have to pay to get him back? I'm going to have to take Jackson with me, so I hope it's not some outrageous amount or they'll just have to keep him (not Jackson....Travis). We'll see what happens tomorrow. I know all of you are waiting in great anticipation.

I'm actually waiting with anticipation, not in it.

(Dadgummit, I tried not to post that, but I just couldn't help myself!)

ANYWAY, if you go and it's not him, will Jack be able to tell the difference? Will he expect to bring home the Travis-cat, or is he old enough to be able to tell it's (maybe) not him?

I should say, though, that both uses are grammatically correct. I was just being a turd.

I think he's old enough to understand that a cat can look like Travis without actually being Travis. And I think you were actually being a terd.

Ahh, I see I need to explain my method for spelling turd. You see, it's all based upon how you furrow your brow when you say the word. For example...

"Is that a turd on the floor?"

vs.

"Dadgummit, Phillip, quit being such a terd!"

In the first example, since it's a question, one would usually raise their eyebrows in a sort of disbelief about the situation. In this case, you should spell turd with a "u."

The second example is more of an exclamation or order, and one would typically furrow their brow in some sort of angry expression. In this case, you should spell turd with an "e": terd.

Lastly, people furrow their brows differently, so a general rule of thumb would be to base the spelling on whether or not the word is being used as an exclamation of force, or just as a general word or question.

That is all.

I prefer the old English spelling: Taerdd.

Good luck! Like I said in the last comment in the previous post...You can always go ahead and adopt Carter anyway, and if Travis shows back up he'll have a buddy to hang out with.
